One card: $15,000 × 2% = $300 cash back.
Three cards: 30,000 everyday points + 3 × 60,000 bonus points = 210,000 points. At an illustrative 1¢ per point, that’s $2,100 toward travel before fees.
Illustrative example, not live offers. Compares keeping an existing 2% cash-back card with no new bonus against opening three eligible cards in the same rewards program. Both paths use the same $15,000 of planned purchases over 9 months. The new cards earn 2 points per dollar plus a 60,000-point welcome bonus each. Each bonus requires $5,000 in 3 months, earned on separate cards one after another over 9 months. The 1¢-per-point conversion is an illustrative assumption, not a guaranteed cash or travel redemption. Actual offers, eligibility and redemption values vary. Values are before annual fees. Pay balances in full; interest and fees can outweigh rewards.

FAQ
Understand your next move.
How do you put a dollar value on points?
We convert points to dollars using estimated values informed by rewards research. For example, 60,000 Chase points at 1.5¢ each equal $900 in estimated redemption value; your actual redemption may be higher or lower.

See the point values and conversionWhy isn’t a certain card in my plan?
Your existing cards, recent openings, past bonuses, or spending budget can rule a card out. Offers also need current evidence. Most airline and hotel cards are outside our recommendations; their absence doesn’t mean an issuer would reject you.
See which cards and offers we coverWhy does the order of applications matter?
Chase’s reported 5/24 rule can restrict approvals after five new card accounts on your credit report within 24 months. We consider that history, repeat-bonus rules, and overlapping spending deadlines when ordering your cards; issuers decide eligibility.
Doctor of Credit’s 5/24 guideAre annual fees included in the projected value?
Projected rewards are shown before annual fees. Each recommended card lists its fee separately, so compare that cost with the benefits you’ll actually use. Credits are not treated as guaranteed savings.
See how the calculations workHow do I turn the points into travel?
Depending on the card, you can book through its travel portal, cover eligible travel purchases, or transfer to airline and hotel partners. Compare the points cost and fees with the cash price, and confirm availability before transferring.
